Barbara Flesch Prica

Barbara Flesch Prica, age 87, was born to Magdelana and Mathias Flesch on November 15, 1914 in Vukovar, Yugoslavia. She married George Prica in 1949 and then immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island that same year. They settled in St. Louis, Missouri where they raised their three children, George, Barbara and Suzanna. In 1999, Barbara and George moved to a retirement center in Lindenhurst, Illinois. That same year, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Barbara had a stroke in September 2001 which eventually took her life in April ,2002. Barbara and George were active members of Holy Trinity Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in St. Louis, Missouri. Barbara volunteered many hours in active service cooking for church functions. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose interests included cooking, baking and gardening. She was especially proud of her eight granddaughters and took special delight in singing with them at family gatherings. Wake was Friday, May 10th from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. at and funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at New Gracanica Monastery, Third Lake. Interment at Most Holy Mother of God Cemetery in New Gracanica Monastery. Contributions in Barbaras memory may be made to St. Therese Star Hospice, 2615 Washington Street, Waukegan, IL 60085.
