George Bozic, age 67, beloved husband of Rose Bozic; loving and proud father of Martha and George Bozic, Jr.; devoted brother of Mica, Nedeljka, Stoja, and Mira. Founder of Georges Liquor and Deli in Chicago; George was loved and respected by countless friends and relatives in the USA, Canada, Serbia, and abroad. Our hearts are sad as we miss his love and his strength. May his memory be eternal.
George Bozic was well-loved, and greatly respected by countless friends, relatives, business patrons, and Chicagos Yugoslavian community. George immigrated to the United States in 1961. In 1963, he met and married Rose who became his wife, business partner, and best friend in life. They were married in Gary, Indiana and later moved to Chicago where they opened their first business upon saving enough money for a start up.
He has been an invaluable member of the community ever since. He has been a strong family man, faithful friend, and experienced mentor to all those who sought his advice. He especially encouraged others in entrepreneurship and was never short of words of inspiration and experienced guidance. He took great pride in the success of others in the community. George Bozic was a valued member of the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago.
George derived his greatest pride and joy from his family, friends, and work life. He passed away peacefully Saturday, October 13, 2001 at home and with his beloved family.
Visitation was on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sveta Gora, Serbian Orthodox Funeral Home, 3517 N. Pulaski Road in Chicago. Pomen (wake service) was at 7:00 p.m. at chapel. Opelo (funeral service) was on Thursday 11:00 a.m. at Saint Sava Monastery, Libertyville. Interment Saint Sava Cemetery.
