Cedomir Marinkovich, 80, passed away on October 21st, 2012. “Ched” was born in Aleksinac, Serbia on October 15, 1932. Ched’s life was characterized by determination starting with his escape from Communist Yugoslavia and eventually emigrating to Chicago in 1959. A brilliant mechanical engineer whose multitude of patents spanned medical and manufacturing industries, he had been active in the Serbian Diaspora’s struggle and formation around the Serbian Church. Loving father of Vladimir (Biljana), Dragomir (Donna) and Sava Marinkovich, proud grandfather of Marko, Nikola, Matija, Dusan, Zora, and Lena Marinkovich, dearest brother of Nadezda Kostic (Slavoljub), Aleksinac, Serbia, caring uncle of Milena Trajkovic (Kostic) and the late Bata Kostic, Tomislav (Lynn) Vasiljevich and Marija Knee, dearest great-uncle of Rados and Ivan Kostic, Dusan, Marko and Danica Trajkovic. Cedomir will be sorely missed by numerous other family members and friends in Serbia and the USA and by all who knew him. Visitation Friday, October 26th from 4 to 9 p.m. at Sveta Gora, Serbian Orthodox Funeral Home, 3517 N. Pulaski Road, Chicago.
