Dragan Tomić, 72, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Born on September 30, 1953 in Kosovska Mitrovica, Serbia, to father Borivoje and mother Desanka Tomić. Memory eternal.
Dearly beloved husband of Kosovka Tomić; loving father of Aleksandar (Marina) Tomić and Ivan Tomić; proud grandfather of Ekaterina Tomić; caring brother of Zorica (Jovan) Zistakis; fond uncle of Elena and Nikola Zistakis.
Dragan will be sorely missed by numerous other family members and dear friends in Serbia, the USA and world-wide.
Opelo (Serbian Orthodox Funeral Service) was held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 12:00 noon at the Sava Serbian Orthodox Monastery, 32377 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Libertyville IL 60048.
After the Funeral Service interment took place at the St. Sava Cemetery.
Immediately following interment, Daća (Serbian Orthodox Memorial Luncheon) was served at the New Gračanica Serbian Orthodox Monastery, 35240 W Grant Ave, Third Lake, IL 60046.

Ivan, I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you, your mom and brother. Mollie and I are thinking of you and your family during this incredibly difficult time, even though we cant be with you today, were sending you our love and support, your father will be greatly missed.
Dragan and I worked together at Flexco in Downers Grove. I will always remember him as a kind and thoughtful coworker. He was a good engineer and was meticulous about his work. We enjoyed talking about our European backgrounds and our families. He will be missed.
