Jelica Jordanovska Jelica Jordanovska

Jelica Jordanovska

(1937 +2021)

Jelica Jordanovska was born to Manojlo and Zafirka Manojlovski in the village of Kičinica in Mavrovo, Macedonija on March 14, 1937. Jelica was the loving wife of Branko Jordanovski for 61 years. She was an adoring mama to four daughters: Andja, Ilinka, Gordana and Branka; a beloved sister to her remaining brother Branko Manojlovski and grandmother to six: Natalija, Nenad, Marjana, Angel, Aleksandar and Zoran.

Jelica was a mama to many who frequented Branko’s restaurant for over 40 years. Her passion for story telling and family were only rivaled by her love of cooking and gardening. Her smile lifted everyone she met and brightened every room she walked into. She held on to those she loved dearly and made us all feel like the most special people on earth.

Jelica passed away on November 23, 2021 in Chicago, her home since 1976. She will be missed dearly on this earth and surely her soul is already making flowers blossom in heaven. Memory eternal.

CONDOLENCES

Nikki Pozdol (Chicago, Illinois)

My sincere condolences on your loss, she was a lovely woman.

derrick d patton (Chicago, IL)

I arrived in Chicago in 1986. I was living in DePaul Dorms. The only place I saw to get food was Branko's. My first visit there, when I met Mrs Jelica. She was nice --- she could tell I was "not from here" <--- her words. She was nice to me, she introduced me to new foods. I got to meet her husband, and their daughter, and I think she got married, and I met the daughter's husband. I said all of that to say, it has been over 30 years since I have been to Branko's --- but I still remember the kindness of your family. My sincere, heartfelt condolences on the loss of your matriarch. All my best

Mom, as I called her even though she was not technically my mom, was an amazing human being. Anybody who met her, even if it was for just a minute, felt her loving light coming to you. Her light shined everywhere she went... her soul was/is filled with loving light. She was an angel on Earth. Keep shining your light up there, mom!! Hugs, Pati
