As an alumni of Lane Tech class of 1977, I joined the Polish club, Ukrainian club and Russian club where I met so many of the most awesome friends I will ever had. Lillian was one of them. I was so impressed by her confidence and sense of humor. I have only one picture of us together at an LTHS International day picnic that I hoped to be able to post and share here ? (but I guess not.) Still after all these years that day is one of the most cherished moments in my life. I have never felt such friendship since. It hurts to hear my friend is gone. RIP Lillian
I too was in Lillian's home room (div.720) at Lane. Lillian was such a beautiful, warm young lady. I enjoyed walking her home after school on occasion and talking about my then Serbian brother-in-law. Learned some good Serb phrases from her. May she rest peacefully.
I am truly saddened to hear this incredibly heartbreaking news. Lilly and I went to Lane Tech together and were fellow Serbian Club members. Although I have not seen her in many years I always remember her as a wonderful, positive person. My condolences to all of her family and friends. Vecnaja Pamjat!
Lillian and I spent four years at Lane Tech together as “Slav Sisters” - she in the Serbian Club and I in the Ukrainian Club. My fondest memories of high school were International Days when we spent the days hanging out and doing our ethnic thing. It was so much fun, especially with Lillian there. I never knew who the Serbs were before I met Lillian. And I was glad for that. We reconnected again about 10 years ago on Facebook. I was looking forward to seeing her at our high school reunion but she wasn’t able to attend. I am so sad that she has passed away and I never got to see her again. My condolences to your family and may your memories bring you comfort and peace during the difficult days ahead. May she rest in peace and have some fun, soaring with the angels. Вічная Памʼять! 🙏🏻
Lillian and I were in the same division together at Lane, so I saw her pretty much every day of high school. I remember her as a fun, smart, and outspoken teenager. I also remember that her Serbian roots were a big part of who she was. I kept in touch with her on Facebook and was impressed to learn that she had chosen a career in nursing. My heart goes out to her family during this difficult time.
For as long as I can remember Teta Lilly always made me feel special, and was always so much fun to be around. She was a rare combination of tough, yet so loving. She was always smiling and laughing, but stood her ground and spoke her mind...as a kid, she's the only person who wouldn't back down from my Tata. Yet she was so caring and giving, she devoted her life to helping others. I'll always remember how fun she was, and thank her for bringing Marco into our family. I truly wish we had more time. Teta Lilly, you weren't just my aunt, you were my friend. I'll miss you. Vjecnaja pamjat☦️
Dear Danny, Vera, Aco and Family, I am so very sorry to hear that Lilly passed away. I couldn’t quite believe it at first because she was always so full of Iife and was still young. Seeing her grow up from a little girl to a lovely, compassionate young woman was a joy. It was no surprise that she chose nursing as her vocation; she had the rare quality to sooth and comfort those in need. Lilly had an infectious smile and laugh. Whenever I saw her, I also saw Natasha’s face, both Serbian beauties. Lilly….you have come a long way from the old Hamlin Park neighborhood and I hope the angels will accompany you on your final journey to Paradise. Rest in Peace Lilly. ☦️Vjecnaja Pamjat.
It was great workig with you. You will be sadly missed. RIP Anita
Condolences to Lillian’s family and close friends. I went to Lane Tech with Lillian, unfortunately as so often happens, we lost touch as we went to college. I have good memories of hanging out with Ed Z and Lillian from back then. May she RIP.
She was very loving , and a dear friend to us, and all our Grandkids, she will be deeply missed, may she rest in peace.
