Miroslav Rakanović, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Born on January 14, 1946 in Gornja Bočinja, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to father Branko and mother Darinka Rakanović. Memory eternal.
Dearly beloved husband of Marijana; Loving father of Saša (Karin) and Dražen; Proud grandfather of Fabien, Michelle, Angelina and Patrick; Caring brother of Vidosav (Ruzica) and Vinka (Milivoje); Fond brother-in-law of Zdenka and Tomislava (Milomir); Dearest uncle of Dragan, Irena, Biljana, Sladjana (Mirko), Zoran, Miroslav, Danijel (Hana), Jelena (Goran) and Dragan (Gordana).
Miroslav’s kind and generous heart will be sorely missed by numerous other family members, Kumovi, and dear friends in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, the USA and worldwide.
Visitation Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Sveta Gora Serbian Orthodox Funeral Home, 3517 N. Pulaski Road, Chicago, IL 60641.
Opelo (Serbian Orthodox Funeral Service) and funeral will take place at the Šušnjari Cemetery in Doboj, Republic of Srpska.
