Siniša Ristić, 52, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep in San Diego, California. Born on March 28,1969 in Belgrade, Serbia, to father Momir and mother Verica Ristić. Memory eternal.
Dearly beloved son of Verica, caring brother of Miroslav, Sinisa’s kind and generous heart will be sorely missed by numerous other family members and dear friends in Serbia, the USA and world-wide.
Born and raised in Belgrade, his life there brought him many opportunities including being the lighting technician at The National Theater in Belgrade and performing as a dancer with KUD Abraševic Artistic Folk Dance Ensemble. However, Siniša had bigger dreams in mind.
In 1995, he moved to San Diego, California. He immediately put his extensive dance experience to use teaching local folklore ensembles, Morava from St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in San Diego and Avala from St. Petka Serbian Orthodox Church in San Marcos. His work with both groups included performances throughout the United States, Canada, Serbia, Greece, Montenegro and Australia.
In addition to teaching folklore, Siniša had his sights on becoming an entrepreneur. He realized that dream opening a specialty fashion boutique in La Jolla. After many successful years as an entrepreneur, he discovered a passion for nursing. With an “it’s never too late” attitude, Siniša went on to pursue a degree in Nursing while working at the Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego.
Siniša was an enthusiastic traveler as well as a member of the San Diego Track Club, running many marathons in New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and San Diego.
Siniša was kind, well liked, and had many friends far and wide. He will be greatly missed by so many.
Opelo (Serbian Orthodox Funeral Service) and funeral took place om Thursday, June 10, 2021 place at the Centralno Groblje Cemetery in Belgrade, Serbia.

My sincere condolences to Sinisia’s mom and brother. I am heartbroken with the loos of such a beautiful loving friend. I have known him for the past 25 years. I cut his hair for most of them. He was a beautiful person inside and out. Heaven gained another angel gone way too soon. I will never forget you my friend. Rest In Peace Sinisia, you will be missed by many.
