Slavka Mirković, 89, passed away Friday, November 26, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 6, 1932 in Vrba, Serbia to parents Dragica and Slavko Perković. Slavka is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mira Perković and Zaga Erdoglija, and husband Slobodan Mirković.

Slavka was a skilled professional photographer and was known for her ability to capture the beauty of the world around her. In addition to her artistic talent, she was a successful businesswoman with a sharp mind and keen sense for entrepreneurship.

In 1979, Slavka emigrated to the United States and proudly became an American citizen shortly thereafter.

Slavka enjoyed traveling, knitting, baking, and most of all, spending time with her family whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her sister, Rada Radonjic, and four children: Hranislav (Ivanka) Mirković, Miroslava (Željko) Atlagić, Vera (late Roy) Pechous, and Nada (Peter) Bradbury. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Dana (Brian) Fort, Djordje and Hristina Mirković, Monica Pechous, Peter, Nicholas, and George Bradbury; Four great grandchildren: Eliana, Amelia, Oscar, and Kenneth Fort.

Opelo (Serbian Orthodox Funeral Service) took place on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 12 noon at the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Monastery, 32377 N Milwaukee Ave, Libertyville, Illinois, IL 60048.

Interment at the St. Sava Cemetery.

After the interment, Daća (Serbian Orthodox Memorial Luncheon) will take place at the New Gračanica Serbian Orthodox Monastery, 35240 W. Grant Ave, Third Lake, IL 60046.
