It is with sadness that we announce that on Sunday, June 12, 2022, Stanoja Mitrović, 66, passed away peacefully at home in Elgin. Born on June 7, 1956 in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina to father Simo and mother Cvijeta Mitrović. Memory eternal.

Dearly deloved husband of Jadranka; Loving father of Ljubiša (Vladanka), Saša (Daniely), Sanja (Joseph) and Charles; Proud grandfather of Nina, Selena and Eva Aleksandra; Caring brother of Slavojka (Rajko), Stanojka (Ranko) and Radojka: Dearest uncle of Slaviša, Miroslav, Tanja, Siniša, Nebojša, Vedrana, Nikola, Biljana, Aleksandar and Aleksandra.

Stanoja will be sorely missed by numerous other family members and friends in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Australia, the USA and worldwide. May his Memory be Eternal!

Visitation Thursday, June 16, 2002 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sveta Gora Serbian Orthodox Funeral Home, 3517 N. Pulaski Road, Chicago, IL 60641.

Opelo (Serbian Orthodox Funeral Service) will take place on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the New Gračanica Serbian Orthodox Monastery, 35240 W Grant Ave, Third Lake, IL 60046.

Interment Most Holy Mother of God Cemetery.

After the interment, Daća (Serbian Orthodox Memorial Luncheon) will be served at the monastery.
