Vida Paić, 97, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021. Born on June 15, 1924 in Slavsko Polje near Vrginmost in Kordun to father Djuradj and mother Stanica Samardžija. Memory eternal.

Vida married her late husband Matija Paic in 1946. In January 1969, the family came to Vida's sister, the late Anica Samardzija and her family within the close-knit St. Simeon Church community in South Chicago.

After working and losing jobs in downtown Chicago, her long term employer became Carl Buddig Meat Packing Company in Roseland, later South Holland, Illinois.

Loving mother of Simo (Stana) Paić, Nevenka (Stevo) Ivanišević and Nedeljka (Miroslav) Tomičić; proud grandmother of Zoran Paić, Radmila (Mike) Pavelko, Gordana (Radovan) Djokić, Tanja (Milimir) Popovich, Milena (Kris) Sobolewski, Marko Tomičić and Petar (Sheri) Tomičić; fond great-grandmother of Dejan Djokić, Elena Popovich, Maksim Djokić, Obren Popovich, Vuk Sobolewski and Zenia Sobolewski.

Vida’s kind and generous heart will be sorely missed by numerous other family members, kumovi and dear friends in Kordun, Serbia, Canada, the USA and world-wide.

Visitation Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the New Gračanica Serbian Orthodox Monastery, 35240 W Grant Ave, Third Lake, IL 60046.

Opelo (Serbian Orthodox Funeral Service) at 12 noon at the New Gračanica Serbian Orthodox Monastery.

Following Opelo, interment will take place at the Most Holy Mother of God Serbian Orthodox Cemetery.

After the interment, Daća (Serbian Orthodox Memorial Luncheon) will be served at the Monastery.

It is Vida's family wish that in lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Simeon Mirotocivi Serbian Orthodox Church are made.
