On February 19, 2026 at the age of ninety-four, Archpriest Stavrophor Petar Milosević presented himself to the Lord. Vječnaja pamjat - Memory eternal.

Archpriest Petar was born on June 21, 1932, in Jalovik near Šabac. He was a priest in Šabac for twenty-one years and a beloved figure in the Šabac community. Eventually he escaped communist Yugoslavia to transfer to the Midwest American Diocese, where he was appointed Secretary in Libertyville.

After five years, he transferred to the East American Diocese, where he was appointed parish priest in Miami. He stayed there for only a year but prior to leaving he established the first Serbian Orthodox church in Miami. He then transferred to the West American Diocese in the state of Montana, where he remained for five years. In 1986, he transferred to the Midwest American Diocese in St. Louis at the parish of St. John the Theologian, where he remained until his retirement and death.

Fr. Petar was a dedicated father, grandfather, uncle, brother and everything else in between to his family. Besides dedicating his life to God, his family was his number one priority. He was a role model in every sense of the word. He left behind his son Vladan, daughter-in-law Malina, grandson Petar, and granddaughter-in-law Aleksandra. He passed away in the Lord on February 19, 2026, surrounded by his immediate family.

The funeral service and burial of Father Petar will be held in his homeland, Serbia, in Jalovik, his birthplace.

The dressing of Father Petar took place on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 11 a.m.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Michel Funeral home, 5930 Southwest Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63139, to be followed by the the Serbian Orthodox Memorial Service at 7. p.m.
