Milan "Laki" Laudanović Milan "Laki" Laudanović

Milan "Laki" Laudanović

(1962 +2025)

From the first day of his life, he breathed the air of Lazarevac – heavy from the mining, but strong and tough like its people. Such was Laki's life path.

A child as all children from the village, a child of a mine worker and a housewife mother – no different from his peers in any way, but essentially completely different.

Imagine that now a 15-year-old child that travels around Europe on his own! And now imagine that it happens in 1977 and there are no digital aids. Laki was that child – he traveled, played the guitar and was constantly thirsty for everything new - ideas, people, the world!

With the status of adulthood, he also gained the status of a world traveler and an urban guy. In 1985, when the former Yugoslavia had high salaries, fairly free healthcare and educational life, with a guaranteed job in Kolubara (as a mining student and as the son of a Kolubara miner), he very   decided to shape and achieve his life in Chicago. Since then, Laki, (Lucky in English)has often been accompanied by his nickname. Charming, cheerful, hardworking, he quickly creates a circle of Serbian friends, but perhaps even faster establishes friendships with Americans and other ethnicities.

A 22-year-old young man, without a pedigree in the USA, realizes the American dream. He becomes one of the recognizable construction workers and a desirable employer. Although difficult and very stubborn when it comes to negotiations and agreements, he carries the thread (the most important one) of fairness and honesty throughout his life.

Who are the people who, with a few sentences, change your view of a situation, a topic, and often life itself?

What do people in whose company everyone wants look like them?

How many times have you been a little annoyed by people whose attention both men and women to want fight for?

To whom have you had to say, often reluctantly, “You were right” the next day after a long argument?

Laki was one of those people - an ambassador of correctness, stubbornness, and charm!

Biker, golfer, charmer!

Unfortunately, in the last two years, the nickname Laki has left him!

Zbogom, moj dragi druže Milanče, Bio si prijatelj, ljudina velikog srca — uvek spreman na avanturu, vedrog duha, i s tobom je vreme uvek bilo ispunjeno smehom. Uvek iskren i pun dobre energije.
