Milica Malesevich, age 90, beloved wife of late Uros; caring aunt of Predrag Stakic, Nedeljka Djuric, Vanja Malesevich and Petar Ognjanac; dear friend of Svetozar Saric and Stevan Mihajlovich; devoted member and great benefactor of the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago.
Milica Malesevich born Milica Ognjanac, to parents Pantelija and Ruzica Ognjanac. Father was a school teacher and mother was a homemaker. She was one of ten children in the family. There were five sisters besides herself. Tinka, Hristina, Mileva, Ana and Darinka, and four brothers, Boza, Milos, Branko, and Ugljesa. She lived early part of her life in Zemun, in Srem province of Serbia. After becoming a registered nurse, she moved to Pula in Croatia, where she received numerous awards for work accomplishments. She was briefly married to a pilot till tragic turn of events made her a widow. She moved on to USA where she married the late Uros Malesevich. She worked as a nurse at several Chicago hospitals until she opened her own business in garment alterations. All of her life she gave her all to anybody she could help, not having any children of her own. She and her husband were deeply religious and gave generously to the church and other charitable causes. She was the last living of her siblings.
Visitation Monday, June 16th, 2003 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Sveta Gora, Serbian Orthodox Funeral Home, 3517 N. Pulaski Road in Chicago. Pomen (Wake Service) 7:30 p.m. at chapel. Opelo (Funeral Service) Tuesday, June 17th 10 a.m. at Holy Resurrection, Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 8035 W Serbian Road. Interment St. Sava Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
