Stanoje-Stanley Savić, age 86, passed away in Naples, Florida on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Born on December 30, 1938 in Belgrade, Serbia, to father Duimitrije and mother Zorka Savić. Memory eternal.
Dearly beloved husband of Gordana, loving uncle of Jelena, Dušan, Marko, Danica and Ana, caring father-in-law of Marina.
Stanley's kind and generous heart will be sorely missed by other family members, kumovi and dear friends in Serbia, the USA and worldwide.
Opelo (Serbian Orthodox Funeral Service) took place on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 5701 N. Redwood Drive, Chicago, IL 60631.
After Opelo funeral took place at the Montrose Cemetery, 5400 N. Pulaski Rd, Chicago, IL 60630.
After the funeral, Daća (Serbian Orthodox Memorial Luncheon) was served at the restaurant Beograd, 2933-39 W. Irving Park Road, Chicago, IL 60618.

I lost my dear friend Stan, who had an incredible impact on every part of my life. He was always there for me with understanding and support, never judging, always listening. His presence brought a sense of safety and encouragement that made even the hardest days feel lighter. I could always count on him, and his belief in me gave me strength I didn’t always know I had. Stan was also a joy to be around — so smart, full of warmth, and endlessly fun. His kindness and big heart touched everyone who knew him, but I will always remember most the ways he lifted me, inspired me, and showed me the meaning of true friendship. Losing him has left a hole in my life, but I carry his memory with gratitude and love every day. It was an honor knowing him.
