Very Reverend Stavrophor Zarko Mirkovic

Very Reverend Stavrophor Zarko Mirkovic, age 76, passed into eternal life on Monday, August 8, 2011 in Ottawa, Canada. Born on January 5, 1935 in Kostunici, Serbia to Mileta and Draga Mirkovic. During his 40 years of unselfish service to the Serbian Orthodox Church Father Zarko helped parishes grow and prosper in five countries: Grabovac and Slankamen in Serbia, Linz in Austria, Saarbrucken and Nuremberg in Germany, Monroe-MI, Hot Springs-AR and others in the United States and Ottawa, ON in Canada. V. Rev. Stavrophor Zarko Mirkovic is survived by son Aleksandar Mirkovic and his wife Amy, daughter Nevena Mrdalj and her husband Stevan, grandchildren Aubrey Mirkovic and Maja and Nikola Mrdalj, Kum Very Reverend Stavrophor Milan and Kuma Marija Stojanovic, Kumovi families Jerosimich, Benesh and Lakovic, sisters Zora Pavlovic and Ljubica Vujadinovic, as well as numerous other relatives and friends in the Fatherland, Canada and the USA. Visitation Friday, August 12, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the St. Stefan Serbian Orthodox Church, 3662 Albion Road Ottawa, ON K1T 1A3, Canada. Pomen (Wake Service) 7:30 p.m. at the Church. Opelo (Serbian Orthodox Funeral Service) Saturday, August 13. 2011 9 a.m. at the St. Stefan Serbian Orthodox Church, 3662 Albion Road Ottawa, ON K1T 1A3, Canada. Pomen Service Monday August 15, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Sava Monastery in Libertyville, Illinois. A luncheon will follow. Interment at St. Sava Cemetery, Libertyville, Illinois.
